Christmas Day! December 25, 2008

Abundant Life!
John 10:10 (HCSB) A thief comes only to steal and to kill and to destroy. I have come that they may have life and have it in abundance.

Life. Abundant life. The sweet smell of success!
When Jesus was a bit older he was visited by the “wise men form the east.” They came bearing gifts to the newborn king. Gold for a king; frankincense for a priest; and myrrh for one who would see an untimely death.
The gift for them was the gift of salvation. The gift of an abundant life.

Francinsense and Myrrh were sweet smelling spices.
Imagine the scent that emanated from the house where the child Jesus stayed.

This brings us back to where we started this advent season…

2 Corinthians 2:14-16 (HCSB) 14 But thanks be to God, who always puts us on display in Christ, and spreads through us in every place the scent of knowing Him. 15 For to God we are the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. 16 To some we are a scent of death leading to death, but to others, a scent of life leading to life.

Let’s be the scent of life to those who are perishing!

Questions for Discussion
